An excerpt found in a definition on the WEB from an on-line encyclopedia "Wikipedia"

Service of Process:
In ancient times the service of a Summons was considered a royal act that had serious consequences. It was a Summons to come to the King's Court and to respond to the demand of a royal subject. In ancient Persia failure to respond to the King's summons meant a sentence of death. -Well, times have certainly changed!

We are a service provider of specialized legal services and would like the opportunity to earn a professional relationship with your legal firm. Our clients successfully receive the following services; process service, skip tracing, investigations, as well as mobile notary public services and Real Estate/Title & escrow closing services.

We effectively expedite the delivery of legal documents in accordance with C.R.S., as set forth in Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure with respect to service of process. We are Professional Private Process Servers, not a low budget
denver capital
sub-standard courier service. You can rest assured that whichever the type of legal document, you can be confident that procedure of service is fully observed by our professionals. Our goal is to affect service in the least amount of time with a most professional approach. We don't utilize process servers who are poorly trained. They are discouraged from walking up to a subject and saying "You're served!" This is a poor reflection of our profession as is often seen on television shows and movies. We identify the party whom we are serving, describe the documents and offer them to the person. Our professional servers have paralegal training, work experience in law firms, and experience from employment in State agencies. As professionals, we will never leave legal papers with parties not qualified (with respect to the rules of civil procedure) to accept service. We will not leave papers to the wrong party due to our own failure or ineptness by improperly identifying whom we have spoken to. We have not come this far by accident (although we have made our share mistakes). In the end, sub-standard service translates to unnecessarily spent time and effort on costly and time consuming case assignments. This only leads to more unnecessary costs billed to your offices, your clients, our firm and untimely service of process.

We provide skip tracing services and other legal investigation services related to the acts leading to successful service of process. Having been State Certified and qualified in paralegal studies and having worked for public agencies and for legal firms, we are familiar with nearly all aspects of criminal, civil and family law procedures. How a case matter is handled from start to finish. Qualifications are in legal investigations/paralegal studies including interviewing techniques and document and evidence gathering. We most certainly welcome court-appointed/ Alternative Defense Counsel case work and are very familiar with working within budget. In all other case matters, our fees are established ahead of time on a case-by-case basis.

Because we are also Private Investigators, we are also able to offer a wide range of "flat rate fee investigation services." Whether it is a background investigation of private individuals involved in a dissolution or custody matter, or of a witness in a criminal or civil case or of principals of private corporations, these services can help you prepare a better case and also save overall time and billable hours by keeping the legal firm's staff focused on all the many other tasks which need to be performed in-house.

We will not claim to be or present our firm as the best in town. There are others just as competent who may have even been doing this longer. We will not claim to be the cheapest in town. However, we don't do gutter serves and will not be leaving any papers at the door step if we have not properly identified the party whom we are serving. Therefore, we will never be able to offer a flat rate process service as low as or lower than $30.00. We are however, going to present ourselves as up-front, hard-working professionals. Our mission is to communicate with your office, determine your needs, and demonstrate our degree of integrity by providing you with reliability, accountability, honesty, and professionalism at the most affordable cost. If we take on the job, we will get it done. Once it is off your desk, rest assured, it's in the hands of professionals who will then manage the paper for you every step of the way.

We will look forward to doing whatever is necessary to help establish a working professional relationship for our future.

Our Theory of Business
Ethical considerations and how we conduct ourselves in the field

Our business has been exclusively referral-based for the past several years now. We no longer advertise in the "Yellow Pages" or on the Internet (actually we do pop up quite a bit if you do a "Google" search). This is mentioned not to boast about how we don't have to advertise to get business. That would simply not be true. It's just that we strive more at developing professional relationships than we do at just trying to get more business in the door for the sake of getting more business in the door and making more money "run of the mill". We are in this for the long haul. We are not fly by night. If we are slammed, we will be up front and let you know in advance what the turn around time is. We don't want to get the papers in the door and sit on them. We want repeat business. We want to be involved in the case, we are personable and professional. Our clients call us on our mobile phones directly or page us, and we call them back. For the most part, we do this kind of work because it is fitting. We enjoy working in the trenches. Here's what we do;take on assignments and bring in jobs/tasks slowly and build client relationships deliberately. It is better to establish professional working relationships than it is to be the number one PI or Process Service company with the best and biggest ad listed at the top of the telephone book who quotes the "cheapest prices!" in Denver. Although we are not and never will be, the cheapest in town, we will do high caliber work. If you or anyone in the firm receives a return of service from our office, rest assured, it was properly served. Often times, process servers can hand in questionable work-product. If we deliver a return of service, it was properly executed service of process. We keep a small staff, so that it can be easily managed. Each process server receives in-house training and demonstrates a familiarity with the rules of civil procedure. We are at a point where we want to develop and maintain good "long term" professional relationships.

We understand the high demands of this profession, especially in the criminal and family law business. We have many criminal and family law clients. Some fax us dissolution papers, some e-mail us contempt citation papers, some require that we pick them up and require that we "serve the originals." The point is, we do our very best to tailor our services to you and your client. Each situation is different, each case scenario is different, and the dynamics in a criminal or family law matter, particularly when it comes to someone's life or with respect to child custody issues, demand rigor and tenacity. Whatever the case matter, we have the experience to handle to situation. We don't just walk up to the first person who answers the door and assume that he/she is the subject to be served, and say, "You're Served!" How unprofessional is that? Of course, this is a good "assumptive close" technique and it does work when identifying the party who is about to be served. There are servers who will do just that for like, oh, $15.00 or so. Heck, nobody even has to answer the door for that matter. A sub-standard process server will just leave the papers on the door step. This kind of poor work ethic will probably continue for as long there is no licensing requirements or regulatory agency of process servers within the State of Colorado.

The legal business is not one that your legal professionals or we can predict. When we are all dealing with people's lives and the matter of children, anything can happen. Sometimes we get papers and then are immediately instructed to "hold-off" until further notice. One thing is certain, in these legal matters, we need to be true professionals who can handle any situation even one gone badly, but who can also demonstrate compassion and handle the situation with delicacy. We can do this. We do it everyday.

More often than not, we end up serving papers outside of the "box" of our "basic pricing." We may end up "camping out" and waiting for someone to come home, or trying to coordinate the timing of it all with a daycare provider, or wait for a police officer to come on or off shift, or whatever the unique situation turns out to be. In these scenarios, we do generally bill at an hourly rate. Seems high? Well, we are fair and just, but do bill for our time spent from start to finish. Just like your law firm does. Just to clarify, we do not take assignments on contingency. Can you imagine a client saying, "Well, I didn't really want to have to be ordered to pay child support, and I was wanting full custody and all major decision making." "We lost!" "And I am not paying your firm a dime!" Not very realistic, is it? Our time spent on an assignment is valuable too. We should be paid for our time too. More often than not, even at an hourly rate, clients often find that our bill was less expensive than what they had previously paid the "cheaper process server" who tacked on a "RUSH" pick-up fee, "After Hours" call fee, "Priority" Service fee, and wait time. And then, the paralegal or Legal Secretary had to notarize the affidavit. Sure, we have add-on fees too. We're just up front about it. We do have set prices as reflected in our base rate fee schedule. The best case scenario for all of us is that most process service requests will fall into the category of "Standard Service Fee" and at times may require an add-on fee depending on whether it is a "Rush," "Priority" or "Immediate" situation.

To reiterate, we desire to build client relationships. We do not just want to get another law firm in the door to submit invoices to. We take our work seriously and work hard at establishing and keeping professional relationships. If you would like to arrange for an Investigator or Process Server to meet with you or anyone else from the firm, please do not hesitate to contact us. We value your business.
