An MMA Sports Store And 3 Products For Pro's And Newbies

As one of the fastest rising sports in the world, Mixed Martial Arts is also one of the more lucrative industries since there are a lot of people of all ages and genders that want to know how to play the sport. Since this is the case these past years, a lot of companies also sprouted out to make MMA related gear to sell to these newbies and experienced fighters. Even though gear and equipment can also be found in most general sporting goods stores all over the world, an MMA Sports Store is the one that can give a complete selection of gear and equipment for the public.

When going to an MMA sports store, here are the top 3 products that you can also get whether you are a beginner or an expert:

1. Hand Wraps

By using long strips of cloth like a Hand Wrap, the hands and knuckles are protected. It can also act as a layer of padding to also protect the bones from extreme damage even though it is used to mostly protect the skin of the hand. Since Boxing is already a staple in MMA, its really no surprise that it can also be used by other fighting forms even though Boxers are primarily the ones that uses hand wraps.

2. Mouth Guards

For a persons teeth and mouth, Mouth Guards are pieces of “U” shaped rubber or foam or other semi-soft materials. This is used in order to protect the mouth and the tongue from being cut by the teeth and of course to act as a shock absorber when they get hit in the head.

3. Sparring Gloves

Compared to the usual boxing and grappling gloves that is already in use in the professional circuit, Sparring Gloves are used for Spars and practices since it has more padding. The closed gloves closely looks like an oversized boxing glove. There are also open gloves that can be used in grappling also.

The products that are listed here is not the end all, be all training gear. There are more gear and equipment that a newbie will need to get to properly train in a day.In order to train the right way, these are just the basics of what a prospective student to fighting will need. By getting these three top merchandise from any MMA sports store, both newbies as well as expert athletes can get back to their training and their passion in practicing Mixed Martial Arts.

Do you know these two grappling moves and how to defend / attack with them?

The first move is the move that Gomi was tapped out with. It was like a shoulder triangle with the arms. Gomi's arm was across his face and the guy had him choked from side control. Gomi got out of it the first time but the second time he couldn't. I've seen the move in Judo and grappling but maybe it was a slightly different variation. I don't understand how it was so effective. I've tried it in matwork before but couldn't tap my opponent out. What is the name of this choke and what's the key to it working?

The second move is an arm bar from kesa-gatame (side position head and arm). I've been tapped out on this before. I think maybe I wait to long before I recognize it but is there a defense against it once the arm is wrapped up by the leg? I've been able to fight it off for a while when locked up in the leg bu eventually they get it. I suppose the key is to recognize it right before the arm is taken?

It is a shoulder choke. The key is to place your head against your opponent's arm and slide across his face like a triangle choke and lock your arms like a rear naked choke with one arm locked in the crevice of your elbow and squeeze. If it is not tapping him out hold and get into kesa gatame on the same side of your head that you have locked him into and walk towards his head.

The key to getting out of kesa gatame is to make sure they do not trap your close arm across their stomach. If they do trap your close arm take your free hand and push against the neck, swivel your hips towards them and swing your leg (same leg as free hand) across the neck. Another counter is to clasp your hand around their waist as they are going for it and swivel your hips under them and roll them over your stomach. Last counter is to push both hands on the neck and swivel your hips toward them and swing your leg across their neck.
